Hey! Would you like some free lockers? UMMMMM YES!!! (My poor husband)
I was thinking of making an entertainment center with them. I decided to lie them sideways & bolt them together. My husband was sure I had lost it & was praying that they never made them into our house...
I attached the wood pieces to the locker by using a metal drill bit to pre-drill holes & a counter sink attachment when I drove in the screws. On the inside, I fastened with a locking nut. This does leave the bolted ends showing on the inside, but this did not bother me.

As you can see we then used Kristi Kuehl Pure Home Paints and painted the fronts in the color Cyan. I wanted an old kinda grungy look so I applied their stain directly over the paint before finally sealing it all & adding the hardware back on
Thie project involved more steps than shown here. Since we flipped the lockers on their side, there was a matter of legs sticking out on one end. An odd look for sure.

I used an angle grinder with a cutting wheel to cut them off. These lockers provide an amazing amount of storage & the paint holds up to our constant banging around in our studio area.

Love your idea! My husband picked up about 80 (yes, 80) lockers in a postal auction for about $3.00 each! Luckily, all sold in my shop rather quickly! I had a client ask if we could make a tv console for her and this is what he came up with. He put a double on its side and added castors and chain for the doors. Drill a few holes in the back for the cords for games and such...he is a wiz at spray painting (no drips!) so he did three colors and sanded down in a few spots. Sold this baby for $400!
