A Monitor Stand Gets a New Purpose

I love to every chance I get. This project was sort of a challenge from some co-workers. They wanted to know if I could do anything with this old computer monitor. I took that challenge!
I had been at a garage sale and was looking for a vanity mirror or something I could turn into a vanity mirror for our guest room. I saw this mirror for super cheap! I got everything that day for a total of $10 so this came out to be about .25.
Don't you love the cute shamrock sticker? I worked a lot on this mirror with chalk paint.
Chloe was trying to help but was way too exhausted. I painted the mirror but it was too black. So I added some gray.
Then I did some sanding to allow some of the black underneath to show through. This was much better and more of what I had in mind.
My husband added this piece of wood to back of the mirror so it could be screwed onto the computer monitor stand.
After painting the back gray as well this is how it looked when attached to the stand.
What do you think? Pretty cool right?
I hope you like it. If you would like to see what else I have added to this room be sure to visit my blog and search for Guest Room.

so how did you attach the mirror to the piece of wood?

The monitor stand already had holes so it could be attached to the monitor. We used some screws to attach it using those same holes. Does that make sense??
