Big Boy Room!

Our son will be 4 this year, and it was time to create a big boy room that will grow with him. Our primary reason for the room redo was desperate need of toy organization as well as a big boy bed that functions in a small space. The room started as a blank slate, as the only thing we did in the nursery was paint. My husband built DIY built-in shelves (that will soon be cabinets, doors need to be placed on the upper and lower shelves) as well as board and batten. We used a rich navy on the upper half, white for all woodwork. I wanted to keep the theme as something my son loves (transportation: cars, trucks, planes, etc.) but also wanted to be able to change out accessories at any time as he grows and his interests change. The room now is full of storage options. We chose a loft bed to maximize the floor space below, it is the perfect movie nook and play area. best of all, our son LOVES his big boy room.
