Ok...FINALLY Went Ahead and Chalk Painted My Cabinets!

Heather Bastianelli
by Heather Bastianelli
I had posted a long while ago about painting my orange cabinets. They are nice cabinets but the monotone matching with the wood floors made the kitchen feel dark and cave like. I originally planned on going all white but after stumbling upon some photos of two tone kitchens on Pinterest I fell in loe with the white/gray combo. I used Grammie's Recipe Chalk paint. It went on easily and because it is local to me I was able to get it by the gallon for less than it would've cost for 2 pints on ASCP. I hope you like the look. Sorry I couldn't get better pictures! Excuse the marks on the dishwasher. It's not fingerprints...it's been there since we bought the house and won't come off.

I LOVE what you did with your cabinets! Did you put any kind of protective varnish or wax or something on after you used the chalky paint? Thanks in advance!

Love your kitchen. I have been looking at similar tile and wondering how it would work with gray...works very well! Thx for sharing!
  • You're very brave. I have the same very nice but boring kitchen cabinets and am thinking of chalk painting mine as well. It turned out very well!
