Hide unsightly storage on the cheap using canvas painters drop cloths and conduit!
Sounds like a restaurant menu item, Drop Cloth Curtains on Conduit. But it's not. You can't eat this stuff.
Using only these three items, drop cloths, conduit hangers, and conduit, I was able to finally hide my awful basement storage. I had wanted an Ikea system (come see which one over on my blog Flipping the Flip at humboldtartdept.blogspot.com) but the cost was out of reach. An easy DIY? Make curtains myself!
I used two 4' x 15' drop cloths and cut them in half. Added time saving tip of using store bought ones? They're already hemmed on all four sides!
I hung the conduit using the hangers you saw in the first photo. Another handy tip? Tape the end of the conduit for easy fabric sliding and no tears.
Terribly weird photo and our basement is in a constant state of flux (read: embarrassing) all it took was a quick stitch of a pocket on the cut end and our storage is now hidden. Yay! Come see the scary before by clicking the link below!
