Using Colored Stains to Create Wall Art DIY

My second project using UnicornSpit stains to create stain art. I did learn a few tricks from doing the first one.
My daughter found a picture from her favorite movie that she wanted for her room.
I used the same block/grid drawing technique to sketch out the outline with a pencil.
I then sealed the entire wood surface with canvas art sealer and grabbed some supplies.
These colored stains are like no other I've tried. In the past I avoided colored stains because they always looked washed out. These don't, they are very rich vibrant colors.
I blended the larger areas with an old t-shirt around my finger and the smaller areas with paint pens and brushes.
I keep the original photo close to reference while working.
This piece has a lot of details and close edges that took some time to keep nice clean lines.
The background was all blended with an old t-shirt again.
There she is, finished with a few coats of General Finishes ARS.
It really let's the wood grain pop.
I love how rich these colors are.
