Bulky Campaign Desk Gets A New Look

This gem was hiding at the back of one of the thrift stores I frequent. I honestly don't care for this heavy kneehole-style desk. But, that hardware!!!
I left the store without the desk, despite the fact that it was on 50% off sale. I regretted it and ended up calling back, asking them to hold while my husband and I arranged to pick it up.
After taking my normal steps to prepare that I've written about several times on HT, I decided to try to something new and sprayed Benjamin Moore Satin Impervo (oil enamel) in a bright green called "Amazon Moss." The first coat was very streaky, so I switched up sprayers and used my HVLP for coat 2.
Much better.
I ran out of paint after coat 2 and went back for another quart. Unfortunately, a mistint (correct color on right). I sighed and started happy hour early. I went back the next day to get the correct color.
Polishing brass never gets old. Look at those beauties! The whole reason I bought this piece.
Durable, low lustre finish!
For my blog, I ended up writing a review about Benjamin Moore's Satin Impervo. In short, if you want to try oil, Satin Impervo is a good place to start. No fuss. All details in link below.
Green and campaign style are a perfect match!
