Creating an Inviting Guest Retreat With an All White Bedroom

We moved into our home a year ago and still have several spaces that need work. A lot of work. Actually, I'm pretty sure that our home will forever be one long ongoing project, but I wouldn't have it any other way. While guest bedrooms can easily be last on the list of rooms to tackle, collecting cast-offs from other rooms and serving as temporary storage, a few months ago I decided I wanted to create a guest bedroom that our guests would look forward to staying in. Most of our family lives out of town so creating a space that could serve as a home away from home quickly took priority. What started as a greige room (originally containing decor overflow to its most recent state of only holding an elliptical) was quickly transformed into a soft, tranquil, relaxing guest retreat. **Be sure to click the link at the bottom of the post to see the before, progress photos, sources, and the full reveal at KELLEYNAN.com.**
Here's a peek of what I started with...
... and here is the final result. I gravitate toward neutral decor and hear the comments "you must not have any children or pets" and "how do you keep everything white?" all the time. Oxyclean and bleach are my friends; if hotels can pull off white bedding for their nightly guests, we can do the same within our own homes.
Fresh flowers are essential when I am welcoming new guests into our home. And, since the rest of the room is neutral on neutral, I can change the complimenting pop of color easily.
Layers of linen make the bed look put together and comfortable without looking too formal.
Because this is a guest bedroom, I didn't want to include any art or details that were too personal. I created a botanical gallery wall above the bed for less than $60 - perfect for a gender-neutral guest bedroom. For the full reveal, visit the link below at KELLEYNAN.com.

Your room is beautiful! Love the bedding. I have to ask where do you put the extra bedding and pillows at night?? I don't like lots of covering at night.
