Shades of White Painted Pumpkins

What better way to usher in the Fall season than to paint some pumpkins! I don’t go all out seasonal decorating, but I always love to have a display of small pumpkins in a tray. Orange just does not fit in my color scheme so I decided to paint some.
I love white pumpkins but they are sometimes hard to find so I purchased 10 Jack-Be-Little orange pumpkins and painted them in varying shades of white with chalk-like paint.
After the paint dried, I wanted to emphasize all the ridges and texture on the pumpkins. This helps to give it a more realistic look.
To do this, I just brushed on some antiquing wax.
And then stacked them one on top of each other.
The pumpkin stems were left as is.
Love this softer look for Fall.
Enjoyed the project?
Suggested materials:
- Mini pumpkins
- Different shades of white chalk-like paint (Country Chic Paint)
- Antiquing wax

CK on Sep 14, 2016So cute! Orange and other fall colors really don't fit into my color scheme either...though I do like fall as a season :-) I'm thinking about getting some pumpkins too and painting them white....or maybe even black (scary) for my front steps. Love your painted pumpkin idea. Thanks for sharing.
