Picture Remake!

Found this picture at a thrift store for $10. The frame was very heavy, and the back hook mount was questionable if it would not split the wood through. I had visions of the picture falling from the wall and landing on our faces. Not good.
I loved the colors, as they picked up the colors in my Tracy Porter Wanderlust bedspread. The large pic is a bit big for the mobile home bedroom wall, so, I decided to repurpose two old frames that I bought when the Le Claire Hotel in Rock Island, IL went out of business (back in the 80s, folks - these frames have been around the country!). So I had the hubby spray paint with Rustoleum Dark Walnut, and then I used a new piece of water color paint board to fit the inside of the frame. I then cut the picture into two end pieces to fit into the opening to appear on a 'matting' background.
Since our walls do not have studs in the same fashion as regular homes, I had to hang the photos where there were studs to hold them. As it was, it was a little too wide to look right, so I took three mirror frames and put in the middle. Viola! A much prettier and appealing arrangement than the original, large piece.
