A Behr Girl With Glidden Paint

Ok guys. This is how I usually work. I go to Home Depot and buy Behr Premium Plus Ultra, but have them color match to a Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams color. Some people actually buy BM or SW paint, but I am WAAAAAAAAAY too cheap for that….BUT, still like quality paint. I really like Behr, so I like to stay inside my little box and use what I know works.
So last time I was in Home Depot getting sample paint for the kitchen, there was a Glidden representative working behind the counter. Now Glidden is a paint I stick my nose up to. Why? No clue. None at all. At some point, in my brain, from years back I was told by God knows who that Glidden was runny and watery and cheap. So if “they” say it’s true I was running with it.
So back to this Glidden rep. He was a “pretty boy”, which tends to bother me. I mean, if you spend more time getting ready than me, I just don’t understand it. He was also a salesman. Strike 2. But he and another Home Depot worker were really working me over good with their Glidden Diamond paint.
“The main company paints cars (obviously not those words, but something about cars and paint…I was staring at this hair wondering how it stayed up so high without falling down)”, “Look at this board, it’s one coat over red and it covered it great (it did, but if I wasn’t there for the demonstration, I don’t believe it.)”, “If you don’t like it, I will come over and re-paint for you (ha! That would be sooo awesome.)”. Yadda yadda.

So he hands me my sample paint in Glidden Diamond and I head home to try them out. The sample paint went on great. Nice…smooth…thick… I’m talking PAINT people. Geez. When it was time to buy my gallon I decided I needed to think OUTSIDE THE BOX. I always tell people to think outside the box and try something new, and here I was doing the opposite.

As a rep for Glidden, I am glad to hear that you like the product. It has changed a lot since PPG now is the manufacturer (based out of Pittsburgh PA) - If you really want to save some major money in the coming weeks check out the Glidden Complete at your local Walmart (it is very similar to the Glidden Diamond) BUT it is being discontinued by Walmart :) big savings coming your way

Hilarious post!!!!! I used regular Glidden in the not-too-distant past and really didn't like it. Maybe the Diamond one would be worth a try.
