Christmas Cactus Bloom

by Julie J
Does anyone know why my Christmas cactus blooms have completely changed colors? This plant always used to be a vibrant pink color. I've had it for a very long time, and have repotted it a couple times. I fertilize in the spring/summer and use water that sets for at least 24 hours before watering. Thanks in advance for your answers!
This healthy plant is now producing weirdly colored blooms.
It used to have bright pink flowers. Now they're yellowish-white.

Douglas Hunt is a wise man.. listen to the wise one grasshopper. <hehehe> I was going to say the same thing. Like Rhododendrens need "special" fertalizer so do lots of other flowering plants.. Check into that for a start and good luck.

Interesting! We haven't had that happen, but mine is in a pot that the water just goes right through. I'm not sure what to do about that.

@Diane I would just get some Mirecal Grow potting soil. Fert & dirt all in one..lol. When I repot I use a coffee filter in the bottom of the new pot to help keep the dirt in the pot and not the water catcher. Good luck. Water from the bottom ... water from the bottom
