How to Create Patriotic Plank Art

Check out how you can take a simple piece of wood and create an EASY statement piece of art for your home!
Your basic piece of wood! Can be salvaged from an old drawer or even bought from lowes! ;-) Sand, and seal!
Paint it White! Thats the base color... I used Wise Owls "Snow Owl"
Using my Cricut to cut out stars I placed them and painted over them and the tape!! Thin layers! You dont want the paint to be too thick! It will fight you. Thin layers are key in my painted furniture and creative works! Here is Wise Owls "Anchor"
And then for "Republic Red" ...After the paint has been applied you pull ALL the tape and stickers up! Using sandpaper go over the entire piece to make it nice and smooth!! Distress in areas you think are interesting!! Using your favorite sealer... SEAL IT! I used my favorite Wise Owl Lemon Verbena Furniture salve!! Its so dreamy...
