Super easy Fall craft for your seasonal decorating. I used leftover scrap wood from another project, a nail, paint, twine and a book page to create a DIY scrap wood Pumpkin. It is easy and quick. I made 3 in about an hour.
I started out with a 2x4x7 block of wood. I nailed a nail in it for a “stem”.
I painted to wood block orange with craft paint.
Then I wrapped the nail with twine (or jute) to make a stem. I left a "tail" of the twine to look like the pumpkin vine.
By using a thin paint brush, I painted the “rib” lines. I did that freehand. I didn’t want them to be absolutely straight. I like the imperfect look. (Of course, this is an option.)
Using scalloped craft scissors, I cut out leaves from vintage book pages.
I bought the book at a thrift store. I folded the ends before I adhered them with hot glue to add a curve in the leaf. (Again, this is optional.)
By the way…the smaller DIY Scrap Wood Pumpkin is a 1x4x5 that I had leftover from another project.
I hope you make one and let me know how your's turned out.

Have a question about this project?
Pumpkins?
This is modern art, right? Just curious.
I’m confused. Why are these called pumpkins?
Question. My banana holder is white plastic. What can I use to transform it? Kind of paint for plastic? Love you idea.
