Finishing up the renovation at my son's fixer-upper
My son took the leap of purchasing his first home and this is where the journey began. This is the living room the day of viewing the home
The before space
This how the dining room looked the day we went to view the home
Here is one of the bedrooms which was very dated
Removed all the furniture and carpet for a clean slate to begin the renovation

Pulled up all the carpet and tacks praying for good hardwood floors but unfortunately, they were too badly damaged to save.
Painted the rooms a pale grey with black trim for a more contemporary look.
One bedroom was painted navy blue and the other was painted a softer blue
Used a staple gun to pin down the underlayment and Installed the laminate flooring
Here is the finished look for the house
This is the view from the living room into the dining room and foyer
This is the main bedroom finished look
Second bedroom with the fresh paint and new flooring

How hard is it to do the laminating and cutting it? You did an excellent job and I love it!

Laminate flooring is easy. Start inside a closet where your learning curve won't show.

I think you did a fabulous job!

I tried some other tiles before in a bathroom but couldn't cut them when I needed to and they weren't even that thick. I ended up saying forget it but I'd really love to do my other room with the the laminating like they did.

First of all I think your son did a great job,but to comment on the floor question. Make sure to measure for square. With narrow laminate planks it's easier to make unobtrusive corrections, but with bigger tiles without the planning you may end up very unhappy with the resulting look.

This was his first time doing it. A carpenter friend taught him in a day... the most tricky part was around the corner edges.. he made a few booboos but for his first time.. i high-5d him

He did a excellent job! He definitely should be very proud of himself. Did he have a special knife to cut it?

Great job! I helped both of my kids do fixer upper on their first homes. We had a blast and it gives them a sense of ownership by putting their personal stamp on it
