I'm sharing with you how to make an elegant looking wreath for the holidays using foam sheets and glitter. This technique is the same one I used here: https://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/christmas/ruffled-foam-sheets-glitter-christmas-tree-cones-diy-6180624 - just done on a Styrofoam wreath instead of a cone! It's totally a diy craft starting with a plain Styrofoam wreath, punching out circles of foam sheets, turning the circles into ruffles using an iron, sprinkling the glue coated edges with glitter and finally gluing the ruffles on to a Styrofoam wreath with hot glue. That's all it takes to make this easy beautiful ruffled foam sheet wreath!
Let's begin by punching out about seventy five 3" circles, using a 3 inch circle punch.
Next, sandwich the circles between two sheets of parchment paper and place a hot iron on top for about 15 seconds.
Push the top sheet away to reveal the circle curled as pictured.
Quickly pick up the circle, holding in the center. Take your other hand(fingers) and gently squeeze ends together into a ruffle shape. Hold and let cool for a few seconds.
Continue heating and shaping circles into ruffles until you have made at least 75 ruffles. You may need more depending on how you place them together on the wreath.
Next, sprinkle glitter on a flat paper plate, Paint mod podge on the edges of the ruffles and scoop the ruffle edges into the glitter. Let the ruffles dry on parchment paper. Hot glue the ruffles onto the wreath, filling in along the top first and then the sides. You will notice that the ruffles will intertwine with one another in placement.
Continue gluing on the ruffles until the wreath is completely covered.
Then make a beautiful bow using a Bowdabra and attach to wreath.
