Hello all!
We bought a new house last year and I finally have a space that I can devote just to me...my very own French Boudoir !!! It’s basically an addition off of my bedroom and is pretty much a blank slate! My plans for this room are lofty so I'll be doing a little at a time until I can do a final REVEAL! I'm starting from the ceiling down.. so this first project is to set my boudoir apart from the rest of the room! These goodwill goodies are just what I was looking for...
As soon as I saw this hideous beast of a candle holder at our local Goodwill, I knew exactly where it would go! On this same trip, I also found 2 really pretty corbels ( I forgot to take a picture of them before I mounted them but you'll see them soon !
Using white chalk paint ( not sure which brand) I painted the entire piece and flipped it upside down...it's so much prettier now...
I then took some really long screws and had my hubby predrill the holes into the candle holder. Then I centered and screwed the whole thing onto the beam separating our room and the boudoir... a few swipes of white paint to cover the nail heads... easy peasy...
Here is a picture of the beam... IGNORE THE DUST ON THE FAN BLADE!!!
Here is a shot of all three pieces mounted to the beam.. ( the corbels were already painted white and had sawtooth hookers on the back). This was looking good so far but I wanted a little bit more GLAM...
Here came the fun part! I ordered some really pretty crystal chain from Amazon. It's the type used commonly for chandeliers... I cut the length into four equal sections and hotglued/draped them from the corbel on the left to the candle holder and then again to the other side! Then I separated two chain sections into three crystal lengths and added two crystal drops from a previous project and VOILA! I'm in love with it !!
Here's another shot that I hope will give you an idea of how pretty it came out! My next step in my boudoir make over will be my ceiling.. with a fabulous medallion and the crystal chandelier (I'm hoping hubby will get me for Christmas ! ) LOL Hope you enjoyed and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and happy new year !
