A while back, I saw a picture of Tootsie Pop Bunnies. It originated on OneLittleProject.Com and I have been meaning to make it for a few Easters. As EASTER šŸ£ would near either I would forget or there wouldnā€™t be time. So this year, I seem to have my icon icon in a row. I made some changes from the original design. They used styrofoam balls for heads and I have been looking for a way to use up wooden beads. This worked well for me but be sure to check out the original as you might like it better.icon

Here are a few supplies. Various pompoms, white pipe cleaners, lollies and white foam mat. And googley eyes, not pictured here.

I have a Sizzix Big Shot machine and I used a die to cut these various hearts that I will use as feet. You can totally just cut feet shapes or heart shapes with out a machine.

First, I tried spray painting the beads. It even had primer in it but after four coats, I gave up on this method.

For me white craft paint was the best.

Just for fun, I put glitter on the wet paint. I just decided to do a few with glitter. āœØ Update: šŸ˜Æ The glitter does not stay on these well so if you add glitter take some additional measures or just go without.

Some with glitter, some without.

Let them dry.

It turned out that predrilled holes were smaller than I wanted so I just drilled a few bigger so that it could slide over the wrapper easily.

I was pleasantly surprised at how easily this was done. But paint after drilling if you decide to drill because I ended up having to repaint them.

I used Aleeneā€˜s craft glue to attach the pompoms and eyes. I used hot glue for the bow. I was able to tuck the ears into the hole and not use glue there.

Last but not least, attach the bunny tail.

For the bunny on the right, I didnā€™t drill the hole larger, I just put on bow on it. It makes a taller bunny. I hope some of you make these because they sure are fun and donā€™t we all need more fun!

Everybunny could use a few of these in their basket orrrr they are less mess than dying eggs. šŸ˜‰

Sneak Peek... How to build a dresser of sorts... I donā€™t know how long it will take but I am shooting for 60 seconds. icon

Here are the type of beads that I used. šŸ˜‚ This project was to help me use up these 18 beads but somehow I ended up with buying hundreds of pompoms. Now I need projects that use tiny pompoms. Please spam me with ideas of how you would use tiny pompoms. I am thinking a mini gumball machine would be cute!
