Do you remember painting as a child? Have you ever watched your kids get totally lost in the moment when they paint?
That's what happened with this lamp. The price tag said $2 but the thrift store was having a 50% off sale.

Therapy-shmerapy, who needs it? I released my "inner child" for only a buck! (I had the paint on hand).
The obligatory "before" photo.
Using craft paint, it took 3-4 coats for complete coverage. The tiny bands of color allow you to work out all of your OCDish tendencies. All part of the therapy session.
A 'blank canvas' and a pencil, and I let the doodles flow.
To plan the colors, I outlined the shapes with colored Sharpies.
Then painted the pattern with craft paints.
Time-consuming, sure. But allowing myself the pleasure of doodling with color? Priceless.
Enjoyed the project?

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
I have shades that I would like to paint, nothing fancy, just tired of the plain off-white color they are. I am a crafter, so I have a ton of acrylic paint on hand. Will it work?
