Blue flowers make for a wonderful addition to your garden any time of year. From the first scilla to those late asters, there's something for every season.
The Garden Charmers have gathered together their favourite blue blooms.
Start your season of blue flowers with scilla. This tiny bulb naturalizes throughout your garden. Here is grows under a magnolia tree along with crocus and goutweed.
In the birdbath garden, grape hyacinths (muscari) create a border for the hosts and tulips.
With it's frothy blue flowers, forget-me-nots are one of my favourite ways to add a soft blue to my garden. Here it has been allowed to spread throughout this shady corner.
A bit of blue can do a lot to soften the harshness of hot colours. Here forget-me-nots create a subtle contrast to the bright yellow daffodils.
