Make CHEAP Fabric Pumpkins From Old Napkins
Did you know you can make cheap fabric pumpkins from old cloth napkins? With beginner sewing skills and a few tools, you can make a collection of pumpkins in no time! I found a set of vintage orange and gold floral napkins that were perfect for this fall project.
Step 1: Fold the cloth napkin into fourths.
Step 2: When you fold the napkin, one corner won’t have any folded edges. Place a plate over that corner and draw a line to mark the curve of the plate.
Step 3: Cut along the line to create curved edges. You’ll now have a more circular shape, even if it isn’t an exact circle.
Step 4: Begin anywhere along the edge and start sewing a loose stitch {approximately every 1/2″}. Gather the fabric as you go, every 5-10 stitches until you reach where you begin. Pull the thread tight, leaving only a small hole at the top of the pumpkin.
Step 5: Fill a plastic baggie with dry beans and stuff it inside the pumpkin for weight. Fill the rest of the pumpkin with plastic bags until it has a pumpkin shape.
Step 6: Cut a stick from the yard to make a stem and tuck it into the hole.
Step 7: Finally, pull the string tight and add felt leaves with hot glue. You can visit this post on my blog to download a free leaf template.
How cute, right? I ended up making an entire pumpkin family for our fall decorating. Visit my blog to see more photos and a detailed list of supplies for Fabric Pumpkins.

What about using a cinnamon stick instead of the branch? This is a great gift also if going to Thanksgiving at some ones house.
