A friend was having a spring clean of her daycare centre and was going to throw these mirrors in the trash , thankfully she thought I maybe able to do something with them
Although painted white, there were soft scratches and scuff marks visible on the frames.
I took the glass out of the frames and placed them in a safe place. Then I went to work on the frames. They only needed a light sand and I gave them one coat of Porters paints Flamingo Pink and gave them a light sand to make the surface smooth.
I placed the frames together and used painters tape to create 7 sections on the frames. I wanted to cover the fame in glitter, with each section a different colour. I choose red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink.
I started with red. I coated the surface with a generous amount of Mod - Podge.
Whilst the Mod Podge was still wet, I simply covered the area in glitter. After the Mod Podge dried, I shook off the excess glitter and repeated the process until I achieved adequate coverage, in some sections I repeated this process up to 5 times.
A beautiful mess, half way there!
I covered the frame, just as I had envisioned. The glitter adhered to the frame well. I sealed the frame with Rustoleum Glitter sealer.
With the glass back in the frames, it was transformation complete! (There are strings on the back to hang the frames)
