Move over Santa! It is Candy Corn season. So when I saw this wood santa, I knew I could transform it into candy corn. Halloween is on the brain and my need to create, decorate for the holiday. With some paint and some embellishments, this was an easy Halloween craft you can do.
First, I took off the legs and arms of the Santa. I was left with the perfect candy corn shape.
I used a gold/yellow chalk paint and orange. Even though I spray painted the entire piece white, I did use white chalk paint on the top part. Just to make it look cohesive.
Then, it was fun to let my creativity take over. Polka dots, stripes. Love it all! I used the same orange but mixed it with white paint for the stripes. For the yellow polka dots I used a brighter yellow. Love the contrast.
I added twine and a burlap tag. Eat me seemed appropriate for the tag. This candy corn has a tag line. Like the Real Housewives on Bravo.
I used sand paper to give it all a rougher texture. This also creates more of a rustic look as well.
Move over Santa. See you in a couple of months.
