Here is what I repurposed instead of replacing the electric fireplace insert.

Final photo in last comment. YouTube DIY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWxjG4ROyYQ

Share my idea and if I inspire you, mention my name and find me on YouTube. Or Facebook.

Remove the insert. Get a screwdriver or drill with a phillips and remove all screws to the box. There is many!

Be careful there is many sharp objects inside. Use wire cutters as well, to remove all electrical wiring.

Find me on Youtube for other ideas, and craft projects.

The left over will have the top, a vent cover from the back and the glass. Remove the glass, wash it, set it aside where no one will touch it.

Now if you want a pretty picture of love ones or family members, get on your computer. Click on pizap dot come. Upload your favorite, add a poem if you wish, and save it back into your computers pictures section. Now head to nationalphotolab dot com and order the size you need. My choice was a 16x20. They are very reasonable with their prices, or enlarge it how you want to. Or just do what you want with poster board. That is what I used to create the walls and backside, too. I used hot glue and tape to add cardstock to poster board. I used tacky glue to add the photo. Do not use hot glue with real photos. Elmers glue is good to use too.

Measure out the side and back. This board will cover the vent area so no need to use it. The top section has a vent too-so cover that unless you want the light to shine through later on. I covered it.

I used glitter card stock. I don't care for glitter, but if it is on card stock, it is not messy. I buy cardstock from Walmarts.

Now I wait for the photo to come in the snail mail. They arrived a few days later and then I made a bottom with poster board and gold glitter cardstock paper. I added the photo to the back with tacky glue.

I added an overhead LED light.

Now anytime I redecorate, I have a light and it is remote controlled. Six batteries inside it. Best investment.

I added blue glitter cover to the front top vent, then clean glass back into the box, placed it back in the console, and now I have a beautiful display. Not a broken electric fireplace to look at! it would cost me around $200 to get a new one. I choose to do this instead.

Thank you for reading and join me on my Facebook page and YouTube channel. Watch for the new display design for St patrick's Day. I already ordered the picture I want in the back! I will add a fairy garden this time. Until now, here is the final design.

Bless!
