How to turn a funky old dresser into a dedicated creative work space.
I started with a vintage dresser that we've had for over 10 years. It's served a lot of functions over the years and I decided to turn it into an island work table for my creative space.
I removed the lower drawer frames/supports with a hammer and a jigsaw. I found some scrap boards and cut them to size, creating a shelf in the lower open space.
I created a little counter on the back side of the dresser using iron shelf brackets and another board.
I dry brushed white paint over the inside and back of the dresser.
I added an old finial to one side to hang aprons.
I added an iron bird hook to the other side to hold project supplies, like vintage hangers.
Open shelves hold creative supplies.
It has been really nice to have a dedicated spot for creative projects instead of always taking up the kitchen counter or dining table!
Without spending any money at all, I was able to pull together a functional island table for my creative space using items I already had.
Enjoyed the project?
