Create the Look of Depression Glass
When someone offers me a trashed light fixture to repurpose I jump on the opportunity to make something new!
Today I'm creating a Spring vase using repurposed garage sale finds.
This is the light fixture that came out of my friend's bathroom remodel.
Recently I made a sea glass colored candle using those beautiful flower shaped light globes and you can see them by clicking on the bold link.
Today I'm using another one of the flower globes and a glass sugar dispenser to create a pretty Spring vase.
I whipped up the secret recipe which you can find by visiting the Homeroad blog at the bottom of this post.
I painted 2 coats letting it dry between coats.
I painted the sugar dispenser and the repurposed lamp globe with equal amount of the mixture.
As you can see it dries to a beautiful clear yellow and looks a lot like depression glass.
I sprayed the finished pieces with a spray sealer so the outside of the vessel would be waterproof.
I attached the top globe to the sugar dispenser using a strong waterproof glue then tied a buffalo check bow around the vase.
This is an easy project that everyone can do and the best part is that the ingredients for this mixture are easy to find and readily available at the craft store.

I would love to do this to my straw holder. Plus put the straws back in. Would this be a problem?
