Make an Garden Gate and Boardwalk From 2 Pallets in an Hour!
After I came home from my fancy vacation filled with well manicured lawns, I sat in my own back yard and gasped... it needed help.
When I started a big weeding frenzy around my shed, I lifted up the old pallet wood boardwalk and it fell apart. Rotten to the core. Perfect.
Well, that was enough for me. I started snooping around my junk stash eager to fix it up in a jiffy. I had some serious suntanning to do and wanted something pretty to look at while doing it!
Two pallets and 1 hour later, I had a new pallet wood gate and cute little boardwalk to match! And I didn't have to build a thing!
Want some garden enhancements made easy too? Here's what I did:
When coming home from my vacation, this is what I had to stare at. Yuk.
Ripping up the old boardwalk to weed underneath, it broke into a million pieces.
The answer was easy. Replace it!
A simple pallet like this is all you need.
Make sure it's the dimensions you desire, as well as the boards tightly connected together on top to do the job as a boardwalk or front step.
Is pallet wood safe? Read THIS article to figure that out first, especially if you desire to place pallet wood around food garden plants!
And another pallet was used for a gate!
The pallet gate was attached to the shed with gate hinges. Another perfect fit!
To get behind the shed, you simply swing the gate open!
And to get a wheelbarrow in behind the shed, I place a plank from the pallet to the yard making the height transition easy.

The new pallet wood garden shed gate and board walk marry the little rustic garden shed SO well, and couldn't have been easier to make!
But I added more charm in this sweet garden shed area too...
