Create a Cute Vignette For Your Garden or Front Porch
In today's project, we're repurposing an old ladder and creating a cute vignette for either your garden or your front porch. Really this little grouping would look great just about anywhere you want to place it. It's super easy and just takes a wee bit of creativity.
Here are some ideas of junk you can use:
Old ladder (either a tall ladder or a step ladder will work - easy to find at flea markets, estate sales and garage sales)
Little outdoor knick knacks like - solar lights, diy projects, watering cans, bird houses, small planters, wicker baskets, etc.
I just experiment by placing different little knick knacks or junk I have in my garden shed. I've seen some folks extend the rungs of the ladder by nailing wood onto them. I've never had any problem just by sitting my junk directly on the ladder rungs.
Sometimes with my little plant containers, I will use string or twist ties to hold them on the rungs. If you're worried about your junk falling off the ladder rungs, just put a little piece of velcro on the bottom of your item and the other piece on the ladder rung.
Because I'm a gardener, I always include plants on my ladder, but it's really not necessary. Just remember if you do include plants, they will need to be watered frequently because the containers that fit on a ladder are generally smaller.
Here I think I have it just right. So cute and whimsical!
I had this little ladder vignette on my front porch last year and used a smaller step stool ladder for it.
