Coffee Filter Wreath
I wanted a simple wreath for our front door for the holidays. I was also searching for something inexpensive and came across the concept of using coffee filters to create a wreath. Here is the step by step process I followed to make this stunning $10 wreath!
For this wreath you’ll need a 14” straw wreath (or bigger/smaller depending on what size you’d like your wreath.)
2 packages of coffee filters- I grabbed mine from the dollar store.
your hot glue gun.
I started by folding half of my coffee filters.
To do this, you fold the coffee filter in half. Be careful not to smash the top ruffle part.
Then roll it from one side to the other keeping the top ruffle edge as even as possible. Again, do not smash the top part!
This is what each filter will look like from the top.
Then you’ll pinch the bottom together to keep it in place.
Once you’ve pinched it, bend the bottom tip like I’ve done in the photo. When you start gluing your filters to the wreath base, you’ll put your hot glue on the bottom of the part that is bending out.
Starting from the center of your wreath starting gluing your filters. Working in a circular motion around the wreath and making your way out. I packed my filters very closely together to get a fuller wreath.
This is what it will look like, I found it was easiest to glue my filters with the bottom point out. You can see this in the photo.
Once you start getting closer to the edge of the base, it’s helpful to hold the wreath up so you can see where you may need to add more filters to have a nice even circle.
Add ribbon of your choice and you’re all done!
you can easily switch out the ribbon for different holidays or leave it without ribbon at all. It’s beautiful any way you like it!
