This is not a whole DIY bathroom upgrade – but rather how $25 can make a major change! Until our former apartment, I never had handles on drawers in the kitchen or bathroom. It was an adjustment at the apartment however I was able to get used to using them pretty quickly and loved the fact I didn’t have so much wear and tear on my nails trying to open a drawer. Lucky Home Today didn’t come with drawer/cabinet pulls with exception to the kitchen. The more time I’ve spent in the bathroom, the more I have realized how much I missed them. With a little research, I realized this would be one of the easiest DIY bathroom upgrades that can be done! While its easy to do, here are some tips to make it easier for you to do!
I purchased these drawer pulls as 2 packages of 4 handles per pack from Home Depot. This was pretty similar to what we had at the old apartment. I just love the clean lines! When we get ready to fully replace the cabinetry, I do plan on re-using these pulls. I also went ahead and purchased a kit to help me easily center the drill holes (a DIY nightmare I wanted to avoid).
The kit comes with metric on one side, imperial (inches) on the other side. I quickly masked off what sizes I need to be using to avoid confusion.
Once I finished installing the first pull, the rest went on quickly. Then I switched to the doors. On the doors, you use the alternative template. I found there was no centered hole. I ended up marking 2 holes and drilling in between them.
Once the holes are drilled through, you use screws to secure them. Easy peasy that an older kid/teenager could do the project!
You can see the center drawer, I got the handle a little high. It’s on purpose, due to my arm length. We’ll adjust it when we completely remodel the bathroom.
