Get an all purpose potting soil unless it is cactus or a succulent. You can add sand and perlite and stir in to make the soil airier.

If your plant is healthy it can be reused. Very often with transferring to bigger pots additional potting soiI may be required.
Spider plant. It's good but had grown so big. Would like to separate and make smaller ones. Plus lots of babies! Thanks for the info

You might need more potting soil when repotting as the pot will require more soil
