DIY Kinetic Sand Playdough!
Here's a fun and quick recipe to make with your kiddos!
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup sand
- mixing bowl
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tbsp dish soap
Start by adding all the dry ingredients into a bowl and stirring them. Then add some dish soap and water. You will only need a tiny bit of water. Don't add all the water at once. We added about a tbsp at a time.
Yes it's that easy to make! Here's what it should look like. If should be a tiny bit sticky however if its too sticky add a tiny but more cornstarch.
The secret to getting your sand playdough super stretchy is the soap. If you feel like it's not stretchy enough add another spoon of dish soap. You can also add some elmers glue ( about a spoon ) If you want to build shapes with the playdough. The glue helps it dry better.
Have fun! Store it in a ziploc bag. :) I share more tips on the blog regarding this DIY kinetic sand. You can check it out HERE !
