Ants: Safe and Effective Cure
Cheap & Easy Homemade Ant Spray
Killing ants in your lawn is tricky business because children and pets use the area for play and traversing the garden. You can try a 3 percent solution of dish soap with water as a spray for an infested area. Other possible treatments include diatomaceous earth or a borax and sugar water spray.
Find the nest and pour boiling water on it. I've also heard vinegar works
I only use Amdro ant killer. It works almost instantly.

Hi! My grandfather would pour boiling water into the ant hill. Very effective. I usually use diatomaceous earth, although outside applications usually have to be repeated more often, since rain will wash it away. Indoors, I treat all the entry points and it lasts all season. Good luck and stay safe!
Hi Nanette - Those little buggers are relentless, aren't they?!? This is the most effective method and all-natural spray DIY that we use with ants. It's best indoors, but will also work outside with more frequent applications. It's even been featured on Hometalk! Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

We use Terro, available at diy stores, just follow directions on the package, ants love it and take it home with them to share. Even if you see a parade of ants, just put it in their pathway.
You can mix a scoop of each mound and they will exterminate each other.
I prefer using Sevin granules, you just sprinkle them on the mound and then add a bit of water. They are gone in a matter of hours.
I'd use white vinegar
AMDRO ANT BAIT
