Cathy: maybe you should try a concrete mixture... no melting in the hot sun!
Try using a mortar mix, the stuff you would use for securing tiles
You didn’t include a picture but...Perhaps two-part epoxy would work for this job. There are epoxies that’ll work for glass, and some are made for high temperature applications. They also come in clear.

One more to try is Aleene's Liquid Fusion: https://amzn.to/2EvYbZI It says it is UV resistant and many who have left comments like it better than E6000. I use it all the time!
Silicone will for sure work better
Maybe you should try an adhesive that is meant for the outside. Like a silicone adhesive made by GE might work. Its available on Amazon.
Silicone adhesive should hold in the heat.
Hi Cathy,
Yes Silicone adhesive used in Bathrooms and around UPVC Windows.
You need a weather resistant glue. Talk to someone at the paint desk in your local home improvement store.
Can you use hot glue from a hat glue gun?
Hi Cathy, JB weld is great! it is waterproof as well
I would use epoxy resin, the two part kind you mix for the job.
