Easy Hanging Pendant Light Planter
If you're looking for an easy repurpose project, this Hanging Pendant Light Planter is it!
A neighbor recently moved and dropped off several old light fixtures. (Lucky me!)
This one was dated and the wiring was a little sketchy, so I decided to use it as an outdoor decoration instead.
The first thing I did was cut and remove the wiring from the fixture, then set the glass globes aside.
Next, I sprayed and washed the glass globes and metal to remove the years of dust and cobwebs.
After the base was completely dry, I added color using turquoise Krylon chalk paint. It really made the details pop!
I was really on the fence with spraying the globes as well. Unlike the metal piece, there's no going back once you add color to glass. Still, the white glass looked unfinished so I went for it. I love it!
All that was left was to chose flowers that would really contrast with the turquoise. I found fuschia blossoms and a light green trailing plant. I planted both in plastic pots as not to add more weight to an already heavy light fixture.
This simple, yet beautiful planter now hangs from a wrought iron stand in my yard.

The blue is perfect! Especially with the pink flowers
Cute idea but why not spray the plastic pot too? 🧐
