Now clean, but two ruffled edges… Help!
How do I save my new Sisal rug?
I didn’t realize a small Coke bottle had turned over onto my new sisal rug, so much of it had soaked into the rug. I ended up needing a professional rug cleaning, but the rug has ended up being ruffled along two sides. How can I get rid of the ruffles, in order to save my rug?

Hi there, have your tried ironing it?
Don't use an iron if it's not nature fiber! Others can melt. But, have you tried weighing it down with some heavy weights? Possibly steam it but I would contact the rug cleaning company or the place you purchased it for proper guidance.
Hello. That’s a good question I might suggest calling the carpet manufacturer before further damage might be done.

Spritz with water and lay something heavy on it once you have it pulled out straight. You can also try steaming and then weighing it down.
Hello Elizabeth,
Try Steaming it all over. maybe an iron on steam?? Good luck!
Dampen the wrinkles with water in a spray bottle. Lay a towel over the area. Use an iron set to low to medium heat and iron over the towel.
I would pull it flat and put weights on the ends for a few days. You could even dampen it a little bit so that it would dry flat when pulled tight.
Did you call the pro cleaners you used? I would inquire. They should have a fix for you or should come back and fix it.
I don't think you can, the fibres will have stretched. The company should repair or replace it.
I would try to steam or iron it.
P.S. If you iron it, I would start on a low setting and gradually use a higher setting.
If you steam it, I would hang the rug somewhere - you want to make sure you don't want to ruin the surface that the rug is against. (E.g., I wouldn't steam it directly on a wood floor, just in case.)
I agree with the moistening tip and then placing something heavy on it. Good luck!
I would put a cloth and iron that area ... it is quaranteed that will get flat
Spray it with a little water and then place something heavy on the rippled parts. Let it dry.
Dampen the area with a spray of water, place a towel under the rug where it is ruffled. Put a towel over the ruffled are and iron on low.
How to Clean a Sisal Rug
Hi Elizaabeth: I'd contact the company to see if they will come back out and fix the area. Or, you may try wetting the area down with some warm water and putting something heavy over the area, and let it sit over night. Be sure to put something under the rug so as not to damage your floor. Or, you might even trying to iron it flat.
Hi Elizabeth, hope this helps you out.
