How I Painted a Faux Rug on Our Front Steps
I wanted to share with you how I painted a faux rug on our front steps. I am seriously loving how it turned out!
It was LOTS of work, but so worth it in the end. My rug is very simple and I'm sure you could really go elaborate if you wanted to, but for me, I chose easy for the first time around!
Here's what paints I used:
1 Gal. Ultra Pure White Textured Low-Lustre Enamel Interior/Exterior Anti-Slip Porch and Patio Floor Paintand a small can of Behr Ultra Stain Blocking Paint and Primer in One in the Exterior Flat Deep base and had them tint it in black. You will also need paint rollers, a foam brush and an old paint brush you don't care about ruining. Concrete is VICIOUS and rough on your supplies!
I gave the steps a good cleaning and then painted the entire thing white. I used a small roller brush to apply the paints.

LOVE IT! I only have 2 steps the full length of a very long porch. Some people miss that step and almost fall. I have stamped concrete that looks like full flag stone. This may help to show more definition to each step.

Thanks a bunch. It is an amazing look.
Gorgeous! Does the cement have to be smooth? There use to be carpet on my steps and I pulled it up but it's so rough! I took my sander and everything to it but nothing helped. I would love to try this! Thanks for sharing
Did you know there is refinishing products for cement that would have filled in most if not all of those pits and cracks ect?
