Flower Tea Bag Holder
A cup of hot tea makes a tiring day better says all tea-a-holic including me. And aside from trying out different flavors. l love accessorizing my cup too. Yup! Because nobody wants that handle to be slipping on their drink. :)
I love flowers so much that I decided to incorporate it as a tea bag holder using air dry clay. If you are wondering , this flower is called Hibiscus. In Philippines (my country) this is locally called as Gumamela.
Now Let's start with the craft :)
To achieve a Lilac color you need to mix a bit of violet pigment on your white clay. I used acrylic for this.
Knead it until all parts are even.
Make four petal using a molder or get creative and look for petal templates on the internet. Both will do :)
I then connected the petals while it's not yet dried up to form the flower easily.
Roll out a small amount of the clay in a stick shape. This will be the style (flower part).
Then using a green clay. Make a flat base and roll it out on the tip of the flower
Let it dry for 30 minutes . Then create a small cut so it would stick to your cup.
Outcome turned a bit big but still happy with how pretty it is. Also, this will be a good gift for your tea lover friends.
What do you think of this craft? Let me know in the comments. Happy crafting! :)

air dry clay never fully hardens, if it gets wet it will get soft so what happens when it gets wet from steam or if it would fall into the cup.

Have a question about this project?
Not sure I get why it is there. Hold a tea bag for what purpose? Isn't that what the tag does?
Very pretty! But I'm interested in the "homemade" air dry clay. Do you have a "recipe" for it, instead of buying it from Amazon? I love how it turned out!
Very inspiring! I can think of many uses for these lovely flowers. However, I think for this purpose shouldn't there be a way to hold the tea bag string so it can be removed by lifting the flower off the rim of the cup?? Suggestion(s) appreciated.
