Home Depot carries a product you dump in the holes. A cat is your best defense against moles but that is not an option for most. When I bought my house my yard was so torn up it was hard to walk. Within 3 months not a mole to be seen and my yard was flat.
I've seen lots of solutions, but I have 2. First, they are usually after grubs in the lawn. Get rid of the grubs and you'll get rid of the moles. The other option is a trap.
Here is some info but as long as you have a food source like grubs, etc they will continue to come

Get a grub additive for your lawn/garden. The grubs and insects live underground (which are the moles' main source of food) if you eliminate their food source, they'll move on.
The granules get into the soil and kill the grubs at all stages of development.
You can find popular brands at Lowes, Home Depot...they are made by Scott's and Bayer, those are the 2 top brands I can think of, but I am sure there are more.

I use milky spore for the grubs, speed on lawn in the spring. On the dirt mounds you see, pour Pine Sol, works great. Cats should be inside!!!!😃
Moles eat grubs. You might spray grub killing over your lawn.
I am not an expert and therefore can't recommend anything but an exterminator told me to use chewing gum like this article says:
https://www.hunker.com/12365357/how-to-kill-moles-with-juicy-fruit-gum
But I can say that once I threw some gum down a thought to be mole hole and I never saw whatever it was in there again.
I used Moth balls inside the holes.

Best ways are Sonic Tube you push in the ground or the Local Mole Catcher. They don't like vibration! Hope that helps
