Are you a stencil fan? I used part of the pretty Indian inlay stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils and warm white paint to give this little wooden dresser some pizzaz. The cut glass knobs added glam!

This is the dresser I found that would would look fabulous with a stenciled front.

SCRUB, scrub and scrub some more. Every piece that I do gets a complete scrub inside out and upside down with warm water, TSP Alternative and a scrub brush then rinsed clean. Seeing it was wood veneer it was dried with a soft towel right away to prevent any lifting.

The dresser had some areas needing wood filler and other issues that were tackled. My tutorials blog (linked below) has all these steps in detail if you want to see how to address water marks and wood filling.

Fusion Mineral Paint in Champlain was brushed on.

The wood striation shown above showing thru were addressed with spray on shellac then a couple more coats of Champlain were applied.

Remember light colors may take more coats to get desired coverage.

Now to add the pretty stencil. I love Cutting Edge Stencils for their selection and durable stencils. I chose the floral section of the Indian inlay set.

Using their  3/4" stencil brush I stenciled on the damask; a soft muted pink from  Fusion Mineral Paint.

Then repeated on all 6 drawers.

Along with the color choices the buyer selected these cut glass knobs from my stash. Fancy and so sparkly. It is complete!

Wow that looks great. I have some old furniture with stencil work I don't know how to replicate.

The furniture is antique it is SO HEAVY OMG I can't move it from room to room. Any suggestions?

Normally I detest painted furniture. But this is perfect! The choice of color, stencil and glass knobs make this piece extraordinary! It looks like a piece of "fresh" antique furniture! It oozes class! It's gorgeous!
