Painting real wicker is not a good idea, especially water based; it will only make it dry and brittle. Sorry to say but natural is the best option, wiped down occasionally with a light coat of mineral oil. If it needs repairing, try the wicker lady's web site for help. Some bright cushions would brighten up the look.

In what way are you looking to redo? I think the answer will depend on what your goals are. You can spray paint it to update the color.
Hi Pamela,
Do buy or borrow a book on Wicker furniture restoration from your craft store or on line. The Craft stores should be able to supply all your needs, or even help you locate someone able to do the job for you.
You need to clean the surface of all the loose wicker and clean off any dirt. I have stained mine in the past but found it came out patchy. I would just reseal the clean surface with some spray polyurathane.
You can paint it! or here is a diy https://www.marthastewart.com/7845736/how-repair-paint-wicker-furniture
Hi! I clean mine with a scrub brush and spray paint them when dry. Good luck!
