Make a paper Mache egg with something in side of it?
So, I am looking for some non-candy Easter egg ideas and thought of maybe doing a paper mache egg with something inside. Does anyone have advice on how I could achieve this? Thanks

Hi! Many years ago, we did eggs a couple of different ways. My favorite was gluing raffia or string around a balloon and after removing the deflated balloon I bet you could put in something small. We used the same method with strips of paper soaked in the glue mixture. With that method, it was easier to close up a larger opening. Then we painted them. For big shapes we used chicken mesh, aluminum foil and paper mache. Messy, but, fun!

Hello Janet,
First you have to have an egg shaped former, on to which you apply the paper mache in layers. When it is thick enough - leave to dry. Then release it from the former (mould) then paint or decorate to taste.

Do some papier-mâché around a form, carefully slice it with a sharp craft knife when dry, place the item inside and do a patch.
