This is an antique dresser I picked up the other day for $15. A customer bought it from me for her 4 yr old daughter and wanted it pink and white.
I showed her a couple of ideas and she decided on the ombre style. I painted it in AS Pure White, Antoinette and Emile. The top drawer is antoinette and the next three drawers I added emperors silk to the antoinette to make them darker. The panel behind the top drawer was painted in Emile, which is a light purple. A new knob on top drawer and the original hardware on the other drawers were spray painted in a white satin.
This dresser gave me fits with bleeding so I had to keep applying Zinser oil based primer. You just never know when you are going to get a bleeder. Piece is finished in a clear wax.
It's frustrating though because it ends up taking so much more time. The results are worth the hard work though.
