How To Make a Paper Flower Wreath Using Straw Hat
Spring is in the air and what better way than making a wreath. Learn how to make a paper flower wreath using a straw hat.
Paper Flower Wreath
I got creative by using a straw hat covered with paper flowers. I collect hats and this one was pretty worn and broken on the sides. With a little imagination I covered up the broken parts with a large bow and Cricut paper flowers.
Supplies for Paper Flower Wreath
For this wreath I used stock card paper instead of fabric. Its going in my covered porch so it won’t be exposed to rain or outside elements. If you want to use this outside you can use felt sheets. I did spray them with a sealer which will help them stay preserved longer.

- Steps On Making The Wreath
Step 1
Place the cards stock paper on the adhesive mat for Cricut. Follow directions to the Cricut. Login to Cricut make design space. You will want to pick a flower design. (I used 3D Flower
Step 2:
Edit the flower about 7 inches by 7inches wide.
Step 3
Hit make it on the Cricut and once it prints out you can pull it apart to form the pattern
Step 4:
With the Quilling tool you roll the flower. Once the flower is formed you can take out the quilling tool and pull the petals apart so that the petals stand out.
Step 5
The last petal on the flower I added a little hot glue to it, it holds the flower together.
Step 6:
I made about 12 flowers in different colors. I places the bulk of them with glue on one side of the hat, that’s up to you how you want to place it. I made a large bow with wired ribbon on the other side.
Step 7:
I glued the bow on top of the broken part and placed a flower on it. At the end I sprayed the flowers with a spray sealer just to keep them lasting longer. It works great. Make sure you spray 12 inches away from the flowers.
Step 8:
Hang it on the door or you can use it as a centerpiece on your table.
