The Best Time to Plant Roses

Depending on where you live and garden, your rose bushes will fare better if planted at the right time. This chart of planting times will guide you in planting your roses at right time.
In my area (zone 5), I always find that planting in the very early spring is my best option for bare root roses, but sometimes I'll purchase a rose or two later in the season, usually through a mail order company (like Heirloom roses) during their end of season sale.
Come spring, I uncover it, and begin fertilizing it at the right time. I haven't lost one yet!
This rose (Sunsprite) is a hardy Floribunda rose that got planted late in the season. It loves to produce sunny yellow flowers!
