Dollar Tree Halloween Crafts

I’m running around like a crazy person today. I am taking a few minutes to drop in for a quick post today because my schedule is still crammed full. So not a lot of chit-chat, just straight to the point. I just want to share with you how you can transform a few Dollar Tree items with a little paint and time. These will be used in my tablescape and mantle this year.
A little patience and time gave me these great decorations.
Here is what I started with from Dollar Tree.
Only difference was that my skulls didn’t have the black on them. They were this gray beige dingy color and I wanted white. I spray painted the skull white, and painted the pumpkin white with acrylic paint. Now I had a blank canvas.
Then I just began painting them to resemble the sugar skulls that are popular. I free handed my painting but you could draw it on lightly with a pencil and then paint your pattern. The thing about sugar skulls that makes them stand out is that all the colors are outlined in black. Ummmm, my hand is NOT that steady! So I used a fine tip sharpie marker to outline and add a little detail.
With a little paint and patience you can have this. Remember to come back on Friday and next Monday to see how I’m using them in my Halloween decor this year.
