My Old Trunk

This is an old trunk where I used to store my school books. My mother got it lined at that time and it has been with me since ever.
Due to several wax coats over the years the color was too dark and a bit old fashioned so I decided to bright it up a little bit and be creative using different painting techniques.
Using asphalt underneath, wax and a Tiffany blue paint, I could give a wonderful makeover and use it as a great decorative piece combined with the reclaimed door for the entrance hall. Check out the "before" and "after"...

Lined with genuine Provence fabric!

White wax and distress...
Sand and brush to get the asphalt color underneath...
