Use poinsettias, gift wrap and ribbon to make these easy hostess gifts.
Are you attending several holiday parties this year, or will friends and neighbors be dropping by? Why not hand out easy, affordable hostess gifts? All you need is store bought poinsettias, gift wrap of your choice and ribbon.
I picked up paper that looks like burlap with a snowflake pattern on it, and purchased ribbon in the fabric department rather than the Christmas department.
I’ve never liked the look of foil wrap around potted plants anyway, and they seldom come in the colors I like. So I decided to grab a roll of heavy weight gift wrap and cover the ugly pots. Make sure and leave the foil on just cut it down so it doesn’t overlap the top of the pot, you need it to prevent water from seeping through the bottom. I cut a 18X18″ square and gave the pots a new look.
For now I have them decorating the tv stand mantel, but I will hand them out one by one when the time comes. It’s a very affordable way to give something small to that unexpected guest, your mailman, stylist or anyone else who pops into your place at Christmas time.
