Repurposed Singer Sewing Machine Base Traffic Sign Table

A day of cleaning up the garage turned into stopping to make a quick project.
I needed to get the garage cleaned up to make room for bigger projects and ran across this traffic sign and another sewing machine base.
It doesn't take Einstein to put the puzzle together. Here we go!..
I cut out some plywood the same size as the traffic sign to bolt to the sewing machine base. I then mounted the sign to that piece of plywood so there wouldn't be any gnarly bolts sticking up on top.
Some evenly spaced screws add to the industrial vibe on top.
I added some thin moulding around the perimeter to give it more of a finished look. Voila! A SUPER STURDY repurposed side table.
Enjoyed the project?

Carole on Dec 19, 2014Cute. I just bought a Singer Sewing Machine table for just $20 on ebay that needs restoration. It is in seriously bad condition. I only really want the base and will add a table top. Thanks for the idea!
