Antique parlor chair update

Medium
Found a pair of parlor chairs at my favorite local thrift shop. The upholstery was pretty gross and falling apart in some places...but the frames and foundation were PERFECT.
Before.....
I really loved the original castors and the authentically aged patina of the wooden frames, but the faded velvet and diamond tufts weren't working. I tore off the old fabric, cut the tufted buttons loose, and threw out all of the old batting.
(I kept a couple of buttons for old times sake). Some black, white, natural, and grey pattern fabric created a patchwork which I quilted on to cotton batting and voila!
After!

@Three Sisters Design I love the fabric you chose. It gives the piece a classic look and you applied it so straight - you must share your secret! The braiding really accents the colours nicely. Very professional job :) Thanks for sharing.

@Gail Salminen Thank you! Its actually many pieces of quilting cotton that I patchworked together and sewed onto batting! Time consuming but so worth the custom fabric that is the result! As for keeping it straight: haha...deep breaths and lots of time to pull staples and adjust!

Fantastic! My daughter inherited my mother's parlor set complete with side chairs, rocker and settee. Which had been stored for sixty some years in the garage loft. And to this day, the set has never been reupholstered... still has the horsehair stuffing. NOW I'll share this project with my daughter for inspiration! Thank you!
